Founded in 2020, our ongoing goal at 33 Zen Lane is to evolve into a permaculture food forest full of fruits, vegetables, and medicinal herbs to share with our community. All profits from our shop go directly toward funding this long-term goal of becoming a source of sustainability and empowerment in our community.
We use chemical-free, no-till methods with practices that aim to protect our native pollinators and plants.
Our beekeeping practices are chemical-free and minimally invasive. Using the natural beekeeping practices of Dr. Leo Sharashkin as our guide, we are always transforming and improving our growing apiary.
We produce honey and beeswax for our products, and grow (or sustainably wildcraft) most of our medicinal ingredients, purchasing what we don't have from other organic sources whenever possible.
All products are made in our licensed kitchen with ServSafe certification.
We offer sliding-scale services because we believe access to herbal health, wellness, and knowledge is a fundamental human right. Don't hesitate to reach out if you are in need of herbal support on a "pay what you can" basis.
Hello!
Amber and Joey here, the women behind everything at 33 Zen Lane.
We share a 2-acre urban homestead with our two tweens, Silas and Malachi, a border collie named Scout, three feline friends, an assortment of chickens, many thousands of bees, and many species of medicinal plant friends.
Amber is a native of Appalachian Kentucky and draws much influence from the folk herbalism of her childhood. She has studied herbalism independently for over ten years and has completed courses with Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine and The School of Evolutionary Herbalism. Amber is also passionate about mental health and continues to work in this field and integrate this knowledge into her herbal practice.
Joey is a native Mainer who has been preparing amazing food in restaurants all over the state for over twenty years. She currently works in the cannabis industry, turning plants into delicious, edible medicine!
